DerbyBox.com is in no way affiliated with Churchill Downs or Ticketmaster. We are a privately run corporation with offices in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Our Telephone number is 812-282-7673. We sell ticket packages. Our prices on packages are (in most cases) above the face value of the amount printed on the ticket. The amounts we charge reflect our acquisition costs and the additional items which make up the packages. Most of our sales are via the internet and our terminals, processing centers and web servers are in states where secondary market ticket sales are legal. We conduct business within every aspect of the law and are represented by counsel specializing in this type of travel and entertainment business. Q #2 How many nights stay are required for Louisville area hotels during Derby week.
A #2 Most Louisville area hotels require a 3 night minimum for Derby week. Check in on Thursday and check out on Sunday. There are a few that only require a 2 night minimum. Contact us for more information on hotels, restaurants etc.
Q #3 Is there a dress requirement for Derby / Oaks Day?
A #3 Only the Turf Club and Millionaires Row require sport coats for men and nice dresses for women. Other areas you should dress for comfort.
Q #4 How do the Kentucky ticket resale laws effect my purchase from DerbyBox?
A #4 DerbyBox.com operates 100% within full letter of the law as it concerns resale ticket policies.
1. We have an Indiana office in which all local transactions are conducted. Indiana laws allow for the resale of tickets above face value.
2. All web site transactions are processed through our servers and processor's in fully legal states and jurisdictions.
3. A large portion of our sales are "packages", which include other services such as transportation, lodging, gifts, restaurant reservations, information, etc. Such customers are still able to purchase tickets through DerbyBox.com as an event package offering. We will fax you a confirmation letter stating that you are buying an event package, not only tickets. Simply fax a signed copy of the letter back to us and we'll ship your tickets.
Note that similar laws apply in other states and the same type of arrangements may be necessary. We operate within the letter of the law.
